Regular Activities
The International Department of the JPC takes the initiative in conducting the following activities to promote international cooperation.

1. Activities as a member of the APO
As a member of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) representing Japan, the JPC implements international cooperation activities with the goal of improving productivity in Asia.
2. Sending specialists abroad
The JPC sends Japanese specialists to countries requesting cooperation, and provides technical guidance in production control, management renovation, and productivity improvement. As of today, our specialists have gone to such countries as Chile, Columbia, Romania, Oman, Bahrain, and Mongolia.
3. Sending development survey consultants abroad
The JPC sends consultants to potential recipient countries of Japan’s development aid project to conduct a preliminary survey in such areas as economic policies, administrative management, and human resource management before the official formulation of the project.
4. Welcoming foreign trainees to Japan
Each year, the JPC welcomes over 80 trainees from approximately 30 countries, and offers training in productivity improvement, development of small and medium enterprises, labor-management relations, and business management.
5. Supporting the improvement of productivity in Russia
In line with the policies of the Ministry of Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the JPC sends specialists to Russia and welcomes Russian trainees to Japan with the purpose of improving productivity in Russia.
6. Productivity cruises
cruiseEach year in June and October, a productivity cruise launches out on a ten-day training program on the sea. It stops at several Asian ports and allows participants to visit and exchange views with local businesses.
The first productivity cruise was offered in 1971 as the first-ever on-the-sea training program in Japan. By 2002, a total of 113 cruises hosted over 48,500 participants.

7. International Productivity Center
International Productivity CenterThe International Productivity Center (IPC) is located in a beautiful natural setting commanding a view of the Shonan seashore and Mount Fuji. It serves as a base for international exchanges and human resources development.
