We are now in the 21st century, and time is changing drastically. Japan has entered the era of decreasing population much earlier than predicted. Improvement of productivity is a requisite if we are to retain the growth and vitality while the population decreases. The JPC declared in its 50th anniversary declaration that "the creation of a society with trust and vitality" was the new objective of the productivity movement. To achieve this objective, we have to improve the intellectual productivity (intellectual power), social productivity (civil power), and environmental and resource productivity (environmental power.)
We should also return to the Three Guiding Principles of productivity, the expansion of employment, cooperation of labor and management and fair distribution of the fruits of productivity, which were well promoted through the trust between labor and management. Renewed such cooperative effort in productivity movement will lead us to "the creation of a society with trust and vitality."
We will continue to promote the movement with the participation of all parties as the labor, management, and academicians. We thank you for your support and cooperation.
