The first decade of the 21st Century came to an end.
The challenge of the new administration is to overcome current crisis, turn the tide of deflation and improve the job market. It should also visualize how Japan should look like in the future and show the strategy to get there. The role of private sector in the economy should be increased to improve the potential for growth.
In order to achieve the breakthrough in the economy, we should perceive the Asian market as an extension of "domestic market" and increase both of demand and supply. The demand should be increased by promoting service industry and application of IT and supply should be increased by improving the innovation within companies. Both will have to be taken up immediately.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of productivity movement and the thrust areas of productivity movement will be as follows:
- Energize the economy by utilizing the synergy of the Japanese industries
In order to develop growth industries that can create jobs, we will improve productivity of both the manufacturing and service industries. We will solidify the relations with Asian countries based on productivity network and we will support the development of Asian economy and management of individual companies by promoting standardization and harmonization of systems and regulations.
- Realize work-life-balance
Selection of profession and utilization of individual's capability enriches work and living and .results in satisfaction of life. We will identify cases of introducing diverse ways of work and best practices and implement practical activities to improve the quality of work, improve productivity of companies and realize work-life-balance.
- Restructure political and administrative systems
In order to develop people-oriented economy and society, we must visualize future life of people and establish innovative policies and responsible structure for implementation. We will promote fundamental restructuring of political and administrative system including government and parties.
