Congressional Forum for New Japan
Goals of the Congressional Forum for New Japan

No structural change can be realized without political reform. The Congressional Forum of New Japan set following three goals to break through current stalemate and promote the political reform.

1. Turnaround of political parties
The operation of parties has to be re-examined to establish "responsible organizations to lead politics" and to "realize political system with parties capable of replacing the ruling party." Specifically, political manifest that was featured in Japanese politics for the first time in the last election would be further developed and promoted. Manifest will also be used to reform how parties carry on elections and the party politics itself.

2. Perspective of ordinary people and political decentralization
The Forum will organize the reformist governors and mayors to promote political decentralization that will lead to true transformation of the nation. To achieve this goal, the Forum reexamines the past systems and policies from the perspective of ordinary people and localities.

3. Restructuring of political infrastructure
In order to change politics, citizens must also change. It is time they stop thinking of politics as someone else's business. The Forum will review how the infrastructure (human resources, policies, information, fund, think tank, etc.) that supports parties and politicians should be to rebuild the relationship between citizens and politics.
