2006 Japan Quality Award Recipients
(November 2, 2006)

The Japan Quality Award Committee (Honorary Chairman, Prince Tomohito, Chairman, Mr. Takuma Yamamoto, Honorary Chairman of Fujitsu Ltd.) , established by Japan Productivity Center for Socio-Economic Development (President, Mr. Tsuneaki Taniguchi,) on November 2, 2006 announced that above two organizations as the recipients of the prestigious award.

Fukui Canon Business Machines Co., Ltd. is steadily increasing value added of the customers by thoroughly implanting the concept of customer-first to its employees, and by systematically implementing the management change with particular focus on the quick response to customer requests.

Village Office of Takizawa

Takizawa Village, Iwate Prefecture
Employee: 300, Population 52,943
Faced on increasingly difficult budgetary environment, Village Office of Takizawa tried to brake through the traditional culture. It implemented the change of perception of all employees. Village chief himself stood in front of the effort to cultivate new culture that encourage employees to take initiatives. The effort, in cooperation with residents, is bringing steady improvements.
