- Promotion of global management
Productivity improvement is mostly undertaken by private companies, and countries cannot prosper unless the private sector increases competitiveness through productivity improvement, and thus survive in the global economy. Japanese executives are renowned for their insights, respect of traditions and awareness of environmental issues, which are all qualities they can be proud of. At the same time, a high level of ethical conduct is expected from executives, especially due to a recent string of scandals that even involved well-established companies. We will strive to promote the development of managers and organizations capable of high-level strategic decision making with a target to enhance management capability in the global market.
- Renovation of work and living standards through the promotion of work-life balance
Respecting individuals and work is the norm of the 21st century. We should adjust the way we work and live so that individual workers could engage themselves in their lives and their jobs and develop themselves further. We will strive to promote a work-life balance mainly through the management and labor unions of private companies, and as a national movement, which involves the central and local governments and communities. We will support individual companies so that they could realize a work-life balance through labor-management joint consultation meetings and thus improve the quality of individuals' lives as well as their productivity.
- Improvement of productivity in the service industry
In Japan, 70% of GDP (gross domestic product) and employment is generated by the service industry, which holds the key to the country's economic growth. We will aim to promote this industry's productivity and quality through "Service Productivity & Innovation for Growth" activities, together with the government and the private sector. Specifically, we shall visualize the quality of services by, for example, identifying business models of excellence to lead promotional efforts. We will also re-examine various service industries to find out how to optimize them in the era of a globalized economy.
- Promotion of political reform
Any attempt to rebuild the economy and society of a country will not be possible without undertaking political and public administration reforms. We should create a country that is trusted and respected by other countries. To this end, we shall promote comprehensive social restructuring as a national movement through the activities of the "Congressional Forum for New Japan (21 Seiki Rincho)", which will be based on the perspectives of ordinary people, and on the concept of political decentralization. The structures of parliament, political parties, and elections will be examined thoroughly in order to achieve platform-based elections and party politics with trustworthy parties capable of assuming the reins of government.
