The Second Japan 300 High-Service Award Recipients
(March 10, 2008)
 

The Service Productivity & Innovation for Growth (Principal Member: Mr. Jiro Ushio, Chairman of Ushio Inc.) announced 27 companies that received the second "Japan 300 High-Service Award." All companies challenged the status quo and realized innovation and productivity improvement with creativity and ingenuity. This Award is intended to recognize companies with best practices that lead to innovation and productivity improvement so that it would encourage other companies to emulate success and good practices be shared throughout the industry. The ceremony to award the companies will take place at the SPRING Symposium 2008 on March 17, 2008.

Vitas Co., Ltd.

Business: Development of bedside terminals and medical information consulting.
Established in: 2004
Capital: 257,490,000 Yen
Best practice: The company employees, most of whom have the background in medical institutions or companies, developed bedside terminal after intensive analysis of activities performed by care providers, patients, visitors. Patients can now do Internet shopping using their spare time. Nurses can refer medical information, perform safety check, and enter patient information through the terminal. Easy-to-use feature of the terminal resulted in high customer satisfaction.


Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters Co., Ltd.

Business: Baseball team
Established in: 2003
Capital: 200,000,000 Yen
Best practice: This is a professional baseball team that moved to Hokkaido from Tokyo and succeeded in establishing enthusiastic fans within the period of a few years. Corporate mission is "Sports Community" and is operating under objective of becoming "a baseball team that is necessary for the community." They are selling target specific tickets as "Namara Ticket" for people living in specific areas and "730 Ticket" for office workers. They are also selling the sponsor companies' products through their website, bringing considerable economic contribution to the community.
