Japan Productivity Center (President, Mr. Tsuneaki Taniguchi. Changed its name from Japan Productivity Center for Socio-Economic Development in April 2009.) established "Congressional Forum to Promote Better Management Vision and Ethics" (Co-chairmen, Mr. Youji Oohashi, Chairman of All Nippon Airways, Mr. Tsuyoshi Takagi, President of Japanese Trade Union Confederation, Mr. Shinji Fukukawa, Chairman of Machine Industry Memorial Foundation) in July 2006 to promote ethics in Japanese industries. In July 2007, the Forum conducted research about "Management Vision and Ethics" and publicized its result. In April 2009, the second research was conducted to grasp what changes took place since the first research. Highlight of the research is as follows.
- Increased importance on outside directors

- Increased drafting and disclosure on principles of corporate governance

- The priorities of CEOs are "profit," "customer," and "employees."

- There are more companies that do the training on ethics. The ratio of the training to non-full-time employees remains low.
- More companies are setting up help-lines. Employee awareness is also on the rise.

- The safety standard of domestic service/product is mostly legally required standard
