JPC to Start Productivity Improvement Project in Tunisia
(October 6, 2009)

Japan Productivity Center (President, Mr. Tsuneaki Taniguchi.) announced that it would participate in the "Quality & Productivity Improvement Project" for Tunisia for 3 years until 2012.

This is a technical assistance project sponsored by the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA.) JPC will develop consultants that will improve the productivity in the electric and electronics, machinery, packaging sectors, which are the priority industries of Tunisia. JPC will also advise in the formulation process and long-term strategy of Management Unit of the National Program of Quality Promotion. The Unit is established under the Ministry of Industry and will be the headquarters to promote productivity improvement in Tunisia. Regarding development of consultants, the objective will be to establish certification standard and organization to manage the certification of consultants that are capable of training human resources that will improve the floor level capability of SMEs in sustainable way.
